Among the primary factors contributing to these occurrences are the lack of adherence to guidelines regarding prevention and control measures for Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs), institutional disorganization, and a lack of continued education programs on the subject. This study aims to evaluate how the teaching of the topic of healthcare-associated infections is incorporated into the curriculum of nursing programs, from the perspective of the faculty. This is a descriptive-analytical study with a mixed-methods approach, conducted with 12 nurse educators from two Higher Education Institutions, one located in the state of Rondônia and the other in the state of São Paulo, considering undergraduate Nursing programs. A validated questionnaire, adapted for this study, was administered, consisting of open-ended questions about measures for the prevention and control of HAIs. The profile of the faculty was analyzed using descriptive statistics, and the responses to the open-ended questions were studied using Content Analysis as proposed by Bardin, allowing for the integration of qualitative and quantitative information for discussion. The results indicated that the faculty possesses a superficial understanding of healthcare-associated infections, and the content regarding measures for the prevention and control of HAIs is addressed during field practices, as outlined in the curriculum. The majority of faculty members believe that the subject should be included in the curriculum through a specific course focusing on measures for the prevention and control of HAIs. It is hoped that this study will contribute to identifying the aspects involved in HAIs and that institutions of higher education in health can incorporate these contents into their curriculum, optionally, especially in the education of undergraduate nursing students.
2025-07-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1422IN SILICO PREDICTION OF ANTIDIABETIC ACTIVITY AND EVALUATION OF PHARMACOKINETIC AND TOXICOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPOUNDS DERIVED FROM ANTHOCYANINS FROM BANANA FLOWER BUD musa spp.2025-01-21T19:59:14+00:00João Paulo Souza Simão da Silva[email protected]Mirian Bomfim Fernandes[email protected]Jociel Honorato de Jesus[email protected]Taline Canto Tristão[email protected]
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that affects millions worldwide, requiring new therapeutic approaches. In this context, natural compounds have emerged as promising alternatives due to their potential antidiabetic properties. The work focuses on evaluating, through computational techniques, the capacity of anthocyanin derivatives isolated from the banana flower bud (Musa spp.) as candidates for MGAM (Maltase-Glucoamylase) inhibitors, as well as carrying out the evaluation of pharmacokinetic and toxicological studies, aiming at potential validation of antidiabetic activity. The methodology involved molecular docking and in silico pharmacokinetic and toxicology analyses. Validation of molecular docking showed that anthocyanin derivatives have high affinity for the MGAM enzyme, with delphinidin-3-rutinoside standing out for its effective absorption and antidiabetic potential. Although the inhibition of cytochrome P450 suggests caution with drug interactions, the non-mutagenicity and variable toxicological profile indicate a safe basis for future investigations. Challenges related to bioavailability, indicated by Lipinski's rule, point to the need for optimization for oral use. The results, demonstrating affinity and pharmacokinetic potential, indicate an innovative path in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The discussion highlights the value of natural compounds in medicine. The conclusion points to the need for future research to transition these findings into clinical practice, emphasizing the study's significant contribution to the advancement of antidiabetic therapies.
2025-09-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1430THE VITAL ROLE OF THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN PROMOTING SAFETY AND PREVENTING FALLS IN THE ELDERLY2025-01-27T09:15:18+00:00Julia Emilly Tres Tomaz[email protected]Luciana Rodrigues Borges Duarte[email protected]Lusiana Correia Gonçalves de Abreu[email protected]Frank Cardoso[email protected]José Roberto Gonçalves de Abreu[email protected]Vinicius da Silva Freitas[email protected]
The incidence of falls in the elderly represents a growing concern due to the significant impacts on the health and quality of life of this population. Social inequality according to skin color among postpartum women is an important and complex issue. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of race/skin color on care for women in the pregnancy and puerperal period through an integrative literature review. controlled: pregnancy, social inequalities, race, postpartum period and its alternative terms. The search took place in the LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE via PUBMED and SciELO databases, from 2020 to 2024. The initial sample was 1.077 articles, stratified after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, making up a sample final of 14 articles. Research shows that black skin color is related to irregularities in treatment, such as lack of contact between pregnant women and health units (linkage), pilgrimage for assistance, longer waiting times for medical care, lack of a companion, among other results. consumerists. Black women often face barriers in accessing quality prenatal care due to financial reasons, lack of adequate transportation, discrimination in the healthcare system, or lack of pertinent questions. The study reinforces that the analysis of sociodemographic and maternal health inequalities according to the heart of the skin among postpartum women is crucial to inform public health policies and practices that aim to reduce these disparities and promote more equitable and inclusive maternal health.
2025-04-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1519BIOETHICS IN PHYSIOTHERAPY: REFLECTIONS ON PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN CRISE SITUATIONS, WITH AN APPROACH TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC2025-09-08T21:07:57+00:00Jéssica Castro dos Santos[email protected]Ana Alice De Carli[email protected]
Bioethics has become a fundamental field for critical reflection and guidance in healthcare practices, particularly in crisis scenarios. Within the scope of physiotherapy, its relevance is especially pronounced in extreme circumstances, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, which exposed significant structural weaknesses in healthcare systems worldwide. Officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020, Covid-19 presented profound ethical challenges for healthcare professionals, demanding swift and complex decisions concerning resource allocation, care prioritization, and the preservation of patient dignity. This study aims to examine the role of bioethical principles in guiding physiotherapeutic practices during crises, with particular emphasis on the challenges encountered throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. It seeks to explore how core ethical values—beneficence, justice, autonomy, and respect for human dignity—influence clinical decision-making in physiotherapy, thereby promoting ethical and humanized care despite constraints such as resource scarcity and the urgency of medical interventions. The research adopted an exploratory approach through an integrative literature review, with data drawn from databases including the Virtual Health Library (VHL), PubMed, Scopus, and SciELO. The data were systematized and analyzed using Bardin’s content analysis method and thematic categorization. Although specific publications addressing the bioethical responsibilities of physiotherapists during the pandemic are limited, the findings underscore the critical need for robust bioethics education within physiotherapy training programs. Decision-making in contexts of limited resources and the treatment of vulnerable patient populations highlight the necessity of reinforcing bioethical principles in academic curricula and ensuring continuous professional support. Such initiatives are essential to enhance the quality of care delivered and to uphold ethical and responsible conduct in response to the complex challenges faced by contemporary physiotherapy.
2025-09-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1449COMPUTATIONAL SYSTEM FOR MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF SELECTIVE COLLECTION OF BATTERIES AND CELL PHONE BATTERIES2024-08-22T15:20:27+00:00Carlos Alves da Silva[email protected]Edilson Carlos Caritá[email protected]
The issues to which the management and management of solid waste refer, in particular the waste of electronic equipment, such as batteries and cell phone batteries, are increasingly consolidated as one of the great challenges of the country, states and municipalities. The National Solid Waste Policy (NSWP) is the guiding instrument for the performance and determination of responsibilities of all participants in the life cycle of electronic equipment, and consequently, of its derived waste. The objective of this study is to develop a computer system for the management and management of selective collection of batteries and cell phone batteries of a higher education institution. This is an exploratory-descriptive study, carried out through a case study, using computational methods and electronic equipment. The information system and automation of the collection boxes generated improvements in the existing process, control features and indicators were added to support decisions.
2025-05-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1483STUDY OF INSULATION GEOMETRY IN THE BRISE-SOLEIL PROJECT: USE OF BIOCLIMATIC STRATEGY IN POPULAR HOUSING IN PAULO AFONSO-BA2025-01-28T23:22:50+00:00Gleidson Martins da Costa[email protected]
The changes caused to the environment have made human beings rethink their attitudes towards nature. In view of the foregoing, the concept of Sustainable Development has been used in many situations. In civil construction, this term may be applied through the proposal of buildings that properly interact with the climatic conditions of the surrounding environment and guarantee comfort to their residents. In this sense, this paper seeks to discuss the ways of improving buildings’ sustainability from Brazilian semiarid, proposing solar shading devices to dwellings from Paulo Afonso – BA. According to the study of the geometry of the insolation in the locality, shading device models were suggested to protect windows from direct solar radiation, especially during periods when temperatures are highest in the region. The results demonstrate the need to use mixed shading devices. The designed protectors are presented as a means of reducing heat gains from radiation passing through windows. The analyses lead to the conclusion that solar shading devices contribute to a more thermally comfortable environment.
2025-09-02T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1476ALLELOPATHIC IMPACT OF CROTALARIA JUNCEA EXTRACTS ON GERMINATION AND GROWTH OF LACTUCA SATIVA: COMPARISON BETWEEN FRESH AND DRIED PLANT MATERIAL EXTRACTS2025-01-27T09:03:30+00:00Myrella Katlhen da Cunha de Araujo[email protected]Alan de Sousa Sousa[email protected]Edson Pimenta Moreira[email protected]Vanessa Cristine Serra Pereira[email protected]Robert Filipe Costa Nunes[email protected]Maria Rosangela Malheiros Silva [email protected]
Spontaneous plants can reduce agricultural productivity by competing with crops for resources and serving as hosts for pests and diseases. The intensive use of herbicides to control spontaneous plants has led to resistance and phytotoxicity, which affects health and the ecosystem. This study evaluated the allelopathic effect of Crotalaria juncea extracts (fresh and dry, at different concentrations) on the germination of lettuce seeds (Lactuca sativa L.). The results indicated that moderate extract concentrations promote normal seedling growth, while higher concentrations cause an increase in abnormal seedlings and a reduction in overall quality. The form of the plant material and the extract concentration were significant factors in influencing germination and seedling development.
2025-05-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Revista Científica da Faculdade de Educação e Meio Ambientehttps://revista.faema.edu.br/index.php/Revista-FAEMA/article/view/1478TRANSFORMATIONS IN SUGARCANE PRODUCTION IN ALAGOAS: TRENDS AND CHALLENGES FROM 2002 TO 20222024-10-17T23:12:46+00:00Luis Eugênio Lessa Bulhões[email protected]Alex da Silva Santos[email protected]Talvane Couto dos Santos[email protected]Ademilson Galdino dos Santos[email protected]Luiz Daniel Rodrigues da Silva[email protected]João Paulo de Oliveira Santos[email protected]
Sugarcane is one of the main agricultural crops in Brazil, with the country being a global reference in the production of this grass. In the Northeast, Alagoas stands out as the leading producer, and the crop has a significant role in the local economy. Given the economic importance of sugarcane for Alagoas, it is essential to understand the annual dynamics of this crop's production. This study aimed to evaluate the productive dynamics of sugarcane in Alagoas from 2002 to 2022. Data from the IBGE Agricultural Municipal Survey (2002-2022) were used to analyze six variables related to the production of this crop. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was also applied to understand the interrelationships between variables over time. Between 2002 and 2022, there was a contraction in sugarcane production in Alagoas, with reductions in planted area, harvested area, and quantity produced, reaching peaks in 2011 and showing significant declines from 2015 onwards. Productivity and production value also fluctuated, with an increase in the participation of other temporary crops. PCA indicated that the years 2002 to 2014 had better productive metrics, while 2015 to 2022 were marked by poorer performance. Additionally, the analysis revealed that, in the study area, a higher production value is correlated with higher levels of productivity. Therefore, it is crucial to encourage and implement strategies to improve both the production and productivity of sugarcane in the state.
