TRATAMENTO ESTÉTICO DO FIBRO EDEMA GELÓIDE: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cellulitis is a common skin disorder and of great importance for most women, from puberty. It presents complex and multifactorial etiopathogenesis, causing aesthetic disorders, pain, psychological and social problems. There are a number of invasive and non-invasive aesthetic features and treatments available to treat this dermato-functional dysfunction such as: radiofrequency, carboxytherapy, shock-wave-based devices, therapeutic ultrasound, associated or not with pharmacological agents, manual lymphatic drainage, endermology and vacuotherapy. A bibliographic review was carried out in the Portal Capes and PubMed (MEDLINE) virtual databases of studies addressing the aesthetic treatment of FGE, published between 2009 and 2018. The objective of this literature review was to address the importance and efficacy of invasive esthetic therapies and used in the treatment of FGE. It was concluded that the association between two or more esthetic therapies was more effective for improving the appearance of the skin and the FGE frame than using only one therapy alone. However, there are studies with a lack of standardization of the techniques and methods of evaluation of the results obtained, making it difficult to infer about the levels of evidence and efficacy of the therapies. There is a need to investigate whether certain therapies using electromagnetic radiation can safely be used in all areas of the body as well as in all patient populations. To stimulate changes in the patients' lifestyle, as well as new investigations on the subject with appropriate methodological designs are essential.
