Abstract

Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of the cardiovascular measurements with the highest incidence of deaths in the present, due to an imbalance between the demand and supply of nutrients to the tissue, consequent to the coronary flow obstruction, characterized by the death of the cardiomyocytes due to ischemia. This study aimed to identify the profile of the patients who were treated with a diagnosis of AMI at the Municipal Hospital of Ariquemes in the state of Rondônia, being inserted in the Amazon region of Brazil. In order to identify the age group, origin, profession, sex, racial groups, lethality and mortality rate, to relate the associated chronic diseases and risk factors, tracing a profile of these patients through an analysis of common characteristics among them. A descriptive and documental study was carried out for the epidemiological profile of the years 2016, 2017 and 2018. The study comprised analysis of 10,461 medical records of the Hospital Municipal de Ariquemes, of which 62 were patients with diagnosis of AMI. It was found a higher prevalence in males, and in the 40-60 year-old age groups, of the brown color, married and retired. In the chi-square test, there was a significant relationship between the smoking / hypertension variables, resulting (p = 0.003), smoking / alcoholism presenting (p = 0.002). There was a deficit in the filling of some information in the records related to sociodemographic factors, lifestyle and the presence of chronic diseases. It is also worth noting the need for multicentric studies among the hospitals of the municipality for a more comprehensive analysis.
