A IMPORTÂNCIA DA EDUCAÇÃO SEXUAL NA CONSTRUÇÃO DA SEXUALIDADE FEMININA

Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: Sexuality is a basic foundation of personality, being part of the life of every individual, present in all aspects, such as the way of existing, communicating, living and expressing oneself. Being fundamental and essential for human existence. The objective of this review was to understand the importance of sex education for the construction of female sexuality. Methodology: The present study is a literature review on female sexuality. This research was conducted through searches obtained from Google Scholar databases; SCIELO, PEPSIC, LILACS, among other electronic journals and physical books, with publications between 2003 and 2022, in Portuguese, using the following descriptors: Sexuality; Human sexuality; Feminine sexuality and sex education, the same combined for the formulation of this review. Development: Sexuality is influenced and shaped by beliefs, moral, cultural and religious values, and encompasses sexual intercourse and eroticism. This being one of the pillars to have a quality of life. Since society helps both positively and negatively in the construction of this sexuality, adequate sex education in women's lives becomes important, as inadequate sex education contributes to myths and beliefs being built, thus significantly harming the quality of life of these women, which may leave them vulnerable to the diagnosis of sexual dysfunction. Considerations: It is concluded that through adequate sexual education, women, in addition to acquiring knowledge of their own body, will be able to give up erroneous information about sexuality, allowing a better quality of sexual and emotional life. However, contrary to what many think, sex education in an appropriate way helps to protect, as violence and prejudice are the result of a failed sex education. With this, it is seen that it is of paramount importance that new studies and research emerge so that sex education will increasingly gain space, contributing significantly to a better quality of life.
