Abstract

Currently, the BIM methodology has been gaining an increasingly space in architecture and civil engineering offices, replacing the CAD methodology. Among various BIM software available in the Brazilian market, the use of Revit platform, belonging to Autodesk Inc., highlights. In addition to easy visualization of 3D models, the platform is attractive to builders and owners, as it allows monitoring design, construction and, if necessary, demolition. Therefore, in order to maximize BIM methodology possibilities, it is needed to familiarize the use of BIM software among all stakeholders. The 5W2H Cycle is management tool that, in architecture and civil engineering ambit, shows to be effective in defining project problems and its variables. This article aims to investigate the hypothesis of incorporating the 5W2H Cycle in Revit platform. The research carried out is exploratory and descriptive, qualitative analysis and methodology of data collection by bibliographic review and by information gathering in a computational experiment. By directing 5W2H Cycle questions, according to the project scope and progress, it was verified the possibility its incorporation within Revit platform, with 71% applicability in View Control and 100% applicability in Management.
