Abstract

Leprosy is an infectious, contagious, curable disease with chronicity interrupted by reactional outbreaks. These reactional episodes negatively interfere with the quality of life and treatment of those affected. The notification system for leprosy reaction states - SISREAÇÃO, started in 2007 in Rondônia, in 2018 in an online, updated version, it was started as a pilot in five municipalities in Piauí. The objective was to evaluate the quality attributes of clinical epidemiological surveillance of leprosy reactional states in municipalities in the state of Piauí in the years 2019 to 2022. It is epidemiological research with a quantitative, descriptive approach of a retrospective nature with evaluation of the quality attributes of cases. registered in SISREAÇÃO - Information System for reactional states in Piauí, in the years 2019 to 2022. The data were analyzed according to the report Update Guidelines for Evaluating Public Health Surveillance Systems, published by the Centers for Diseases, Control and Prevention (CDC) of the States United. According to the operational classification, 165 are multibacillary patients, of which 23.5% (7) have grade 2 physical disability, emphasizing the need for early diagnosis. Regarding closure, 117 patients were undergoing reactional episodes and only 38 ended treatment. It was observed that the system allows the use of important variables for monitoring leprosy reactions, the main causes of disability and physical deformity in people affected by leprosy. SISREAÇÃO is a tool that makes it possible to generate reports and epidemiological data, assisting in decision-making and the development of public policies aimed at controlling leprosy in Piauí.
