Abstract

This research is based on data collection from January 2017 to December 2021, using the information contained in the SNIS platform (National Sanitation Information System of the Ministry of Cities) and AGEVISA (State Surveillance Agency in Health of Rondônia). Among the regions of Brazil, the North has the worst rates in the context of universal access to basic sanitation services. The present work aimed to carry out an analysis of the coverage of water supply and sewage collection services in the State of Rondônia, relating the health of the population through access to such services. The analysis carried out revealed that in this region only 57.5% had regular water supply services, 12.3% of the population was covered by the sewage collection system and only 22% of all sewage generated had treatment. An analysis was carried out for the State of Rondônia, revealing that 46.93% of the population had regular treated water supply services. The indicators for sewage collection showed that only 5.93% of people had access to sewage collection. The results obtained in this study explain the need for public policies aimed at guaranteeing sanitation services for the population, especially because investments in this area prevent diseases and reflect positively on society's quality of life.
