Abstract
The present work aims to analyze the concentration of calcium, magnesium, Power of Neutralization, Reactivity and Relative Power of Total Neutralization in limestone of the northern region. Total calcium oxide (CaO) and magnesium (MgO) contents were determined by volume using EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) as a complexing agent, buffer solution at pH = 10, and as a complexometric indicator, the erythromic black organic dye T. The analyzes were performed in ten limestone samples, where each sample corresponds to distinct deposits. The samples are within the parameters that classify them as limestone. In the classification by MgO content, it was found that, of the ten samples analyzed, all can be classified as dolomitic limestone, besides presenting the minimum amounts of PRNT allowed by the legislation.
