Abstract

Because of the adverse conditions that pervade the daily lives of truck drivers, they are in great danger, including the development of penile cancer. This study aims to analyze the profile and knowledge of truck drivers on penile cancer. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. In the city of Barra do Garças - MT, the tax office (SEFAZ), along with an extension project of the action "Live Well Truck Driver" in June 2015.Of the 100 truck drivers through a questionnaire. Among the main results are: 53% were aged 41-66 years old, 14% had some kind of STD and 51% do not use condoms during sexual intercourse, 5% had phimosis. About 80% never attended guidance on penile cancer or self-examination. In a matter of knowledge, 38% reported that one of the factors that contributes to penile cancer development is not wash it properly, 32% STD and 25% did not know. It is hoped that this study may contribute to the development of health education strategies for truckers.
