Abstract
The misuse of water and the deficiency of hygienic habits can trigger diseases of parasitic, bacterial and viral origin, being the parasites of water origin the dominant ones in pathologies existing in the world scenario. Water ingested by the population must be in adequate conditions for consumption, as it is an important constituent for the body. In this context, this work aimed to analyze the physicochemical and microbiological quality of water from underground wells located in the municipality of Jaru-RO. Twenty-four wells were selected to verify the parameters: pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, total hardness, total alkalinity, chlorides, ammonia, chlorine (method N,N-dietil-p-fenileno diamina – DPD) , color, iron, oxygen consumed and total coliforms in a single campaign in July. 2019, comparing the results with those established by current legislation. Among the analyzed wells, only 16.7% presented results within pH standards, due to the soil characteristics of the region, 12.5% ??presented unsatisfactory results regarding dissolved oxygen concentration and 83.3%. % presented higher values ??of total coliforms than the Ministry of Health Ordinance 2914, which is a worrying fact. Thus, this study showed that better management of these wells can be done, because even with chlorination they still have high levels of contaminants.
