Abstract

This study presents information on the scientific, normative and legislative aspects of air quality in the internal environment of hospital units followed by an empirical investigation in a hospital unit in the Amazonian forest region, in the State of Rondônia. The work was through out in two stages, the first stage consists of presenting a bibliographical review of scientific articles, Norms and Laws on air quality in health care establishments, the second stage was characterized the reality of a hospital unit in the interior of the State of Rondônia on the topic addressed. Through the present work it was possible to provide information about indoor air quality and potential risks in hospital environments, serving as a basis for researchers, designers, administrators, employees and even patients, in order to provide project knowledge, implementation, management and risks related to air conditioning systems in different hospital sectors; finally, in the empirical investigation, the complete incompatibility with specific norms and legislation was proven, presenting a realistic analysis proposed for the normative and legislative adequacy of the establishment.
