Abstract

The aim of this study is to report the approach of the current environmental policies by establishments that carry out activities in the health area, aiming at the health services waste management plan (PGRSS). A field survey was carried out at a post for the collection of human biological materials in the city of Ariquemes/RO in order to verify the waste management, followed by the process adopted from segregation to final disposition in order to evaluate a disposal and possible damage to the environment and the population. It was identified that the main residues generated by the establishment were in group A, D and E, according to RDC 222/2018, some irregularities were found and thus schematized proposals for improvements, so that the collection post could Optimize its operating system and contribute to the minimization of the impacts generated by its services, assuming a better socio-environmental responsibility.
