Abstract

Financial education is constantly advancing, concerning the ease of buying, borrowing and conducting financial transactions without proper knowledge, so that society becomes more indebted. Despite this, few studies attempt to evaluate the impact of financial education as a discipline in public schools. Therefore, the general objective of this article is to analyze the possible impact of financial education in public schools. In order to reach the desired objective, qualitative and exploratory approaches were used, as well as bibliographic review and semi-structured interviews with 6 managers of public schools. To analyze the data collected, we used content analysis and Atlas TI software. The results demonstrate in general that the application of financial education has a positive impact on society, detecting the feasibility of training people in depth on the subject. In addition, it is possible to point out that the application of financial education will have a positive impact on students and their families. In the end, the study developed here collaborated with the academy to deepen the subject of financial education in public schools with the use of primary data, collected through experienced school managers.
